Rom Update

So far I dont see any diff. When my 4700 booted after Rom update the version that appeared in the lower right hand corner was 1.00???????????What does this mean? Has it been updated or not? The process seemed to go smoothly connect with ac adapter and direct computer connection etc...

Hp seem to have made a small cock-up when posting the update. the update on the left states v1.00, the update on the right states v1.10, instead of the other way round. I downloaded v1.00 in error first time. download the update on the right of the screen. I assure you, that is the correct one. i've just installed it and WMP is V10. Can't see any other difference as yet.

You shouldn't have to with Sprite Back-up (which I believe is on your device) they claim it can restore across ROM updates - worth a try - the worst postion you could be in is havnibg to perform a hard reset and reinstalling your apps (which you were going to do anyway )

Absolutely right, HP did a MAJOR typo here.

One other thing: on the version history page, it is refered to fixes made for localization for Japanese, Romanian, Chinese and Korean languages.
So, apparently, this ROM update covers multilanguages.

BUT it doesn't: impossible to install this update on a French ROM. A warning is sent during installation process.

So is it multilingual or not?

I am confused.

EVERYTHING WORKS.
Have a look at the first post in the thread - there is a typo on the HP website - you have just reinstalled the existing ROM.
