hard reset, is it really that difficult??

After upgrading my ipaq 4700 to WM5, I also install Turkish keyboard although I knew that it is compatible for previous version of WM. Now my ipaq is not fully working and I tried to perform hard reset, just it is described in manual, first pushing simultaneouly to calender and itask buttons than pushing reset button with stylus, and releasing first two buttons then after 2 seconds removing stylus from reset button.
It did not work, I tried several times, at the end I removed the battery and now I am waiting for the last two days for finishing the internal battery.
Did I miss anything while doing hard reset??

waiting two days? damn!

you can use utilities like psshutxp sktools and tweaks2k2 to hard reset your device

if the factory method isnt working out for you, id go that route

Letting your battery run out will not solve your problem. Now that you've got WM5.0 installed, you have persistent memory - a dead battery will do nothing in regards to setting the IPAQ back to factory settings.

You need to perform the clean reset again. This time, keep the keys pressed for more than 2 seconds. Keep them pressed until you get a dialogue box asking for confirmation.

Thanks for the replies, at last I could performed to do hard reset by pressing the 3 buttons, I did not understand which combination of pressing the buttons worked, but now I am using my 4700 without any problem, of course without Turkish keyboard.
I wonder if I install a new keyboard software that was originally written for 6915 (using WM5), will it work without any problems on 4700?

Hello, I do not know the answer of your question but I wanted to point you that Resco keyboard has a Turkish skin that seems to works perfectly on my WM5 4700 (I have received this as a supplement when I have upgraded my Resco utilities bundle).

Good luck!

Murat

Hello Murat,

I just bought Resco utility bundle, it is an excellent software and working great on my 4700. Apart from Turkish keyboard, photo viewer is really very fast and has numerous editing options on photos.

Thank you very much.
