iPAQ 4705 Heating Up When Charging Via USB

I've recently noticed that my 4705 has started to get very hot when I charge it via the USB port on my laptop. Any idea why that has started to happen?

Thanks.

constant charge/discharge causing battery to heat.

turn off active sync and see if it charges faster

Thanks for your reply. I'm not sure how you "turn off" AC without disconnecting. But, more importantly, why, after years of charging via the same cord, with AS running, am I suddenly having heat problems? We're not talking "warm", we're talking "hot"!

Batteries naturally degrade over time - and gradually the heat exchange between charging and discharging cycles gets greater - so you get more heat...

It might be better as well if you charge your ipaq off a powered usb hub - rather than drawing power from a laptop usb bus (which is normally slightly underpowered anyway...)
