Terminal Services Client, Is it safe?

I like using the terminal services client to access my desktop pc. I put my pocketpc into landscape mode, turn on full vga and then connect to my pc. It works great for using my desktop's browser on my pocketpc. This allows me to access sites which I can't get to work right on Pocket Internet Explorer. One example is my online checking account. My question is this. Does accessing my bank account in this manner pose a security risk?

depends on your definition of what a security risk is...

The link from PC to online banking is as safe as without terminal services.. It depends on how you are connecting into the pc.. Wireless network, GPRS, over the internet to get there...

So the weak point would probably be where I connect my pocketpc to my pc using wireless?
I wish I had another computer. I could put a sniffer on it and see if I can see any sensitive information. If I can, anyone can, huh? Probably best not to access sensitive stuff like this.

Well, you could also setup your PocketPC with a VPN Client, then use that to access your private network. This would secure all points along the way except one: your monitor (if left on) would allow anyone with physical access to your home computer to see the transactions as they occurred on your home computer.

Not a biggie, but easily overlooked...

Yes. It would be.

One way to do it safer would be to set-up a VPN tunnel to your home pc. I'm not 100% sure how to do that but I found some info on google.

Pocket PC VPN
