HP or O2?
Hello peeps!

I was thinking of buying O2 Atom Executive for myself this September..

As I was doing my research I came across the same model for sale by HP..HP iPAQ rw6800

Please download the attachment attached along with this post.. it contains info on HP cell I am talking about.. with pics of it!

What would you do? I like the looks of HP cell more.. all specs are same as Atom (normal)...

Should I buy HP? or O2?

Any dis-advantage if I buy from HP...? Coz I was kindda more inclined towards them because of good looks of Silver model!

Please reply.. thanks!

The Atom Exec is actually higher spec'ed than the rw6828. The O2 Atom is the same as the rw6828. I presume you are lucky enough to live in a country where they have actually been released. If not, then you will have to get the O2 Atom Exec, check the rw6800 forum, it shows how much time and effort I have put in myself to buy the HP version with no avail. I personally prefer the HP one, as I know what to expect from technical support (you get there in the end!!), and I am also a member of this forum (originally IpaqHQ) and so there is plenty of help around if things go wrong.
You can't rreally get someone else to decide on what mobile phone you should get as it is you that will be using it and you are the only one who knows what you are going to do with it the most. But if you want a vote, I vote for the rw6828.

I think I am going to give up with HP now, now that HTC have released some pretty nice sounding devices. But thanks for the offer.

I am in Delhi, where you from?

It costed me Rs. 33280 plus 4% tax, I am yet to take delivery as I am not in city right now.. so cant say anything about the device right now.. will definately keep you and everyone else posted..

I looked all over the place to buy it.. HP website, malls, ebay.in.. coudnt find it anywhere.. finally I ordered it at one HP showroom which sold all HP products..they contacted HP HQ in Delhi and got it for me..

Ok I got my PDA! First thing I want to say is battery works just fine for me, there is no big drainage on my cell when it comes to power.

Speaker is useless, the volume is so low that you wont even know if a call is coming forget about listening to mp3s. I keep my cell on vibrate+ring so that I dont get any missed calls.

OS is fast but than its a new cell right now; maybe it will be slow with time; but right now its very decent speed and things gets loaded as I tap on it.

Not a very complex PDA, I got up and running withing 20 mins from the time of opening the package. It has everything one needs pre-loaded to begin with.

No problem in activesync.. both via USB or via bluetooth.. seamless file transfer and synchronisation.

For charging plug, one I got from company dosent work with wall sockets here in India; so I charge it via USB when I am using my laptop. Only needed to charge once in past two days.

I dont play mp3s or vedios; but for those who want it for listening to music; DO NOT buy this model, volume is very low.

Screen protector is smooth and looks nice, makes the cell a little bulky but I will get used to it I guess. In the begening it was all a bit plastic feeling I was getting out of the looks; but as I use it more and more I like it more.

Got myself 1 GB mini SD card; and there is no problem in 6828 reading it.. have installed a few PPC softwares..:

Adobe Acrobat PDF reader
Pocket TV for MPEG playback
Metatrader 4 for my work

Stylus provided is only one; so hang on to it. Leather pouch is a bit smaller than cell, so you need to squeeze it to fit inside.

Charging via USB (laptop) reduces the need for any extra charger or long chords.

Overall I am satisfied. 8/10

I do not regret this buy, and if someone gives me an option now to switch to Atom I think I will stay with HP.

Phreaker I would love to meet you, please leave your contacts details on PM and best possible day to meet!

If anyone else have any question, or want any screenshot; than let me know I will post it here!

Guys i finally met Purple in one of the watering holes in New Delgi n had a look at his device..... the device is definitely good looking and i think apart from the speakers..i think its a great device.... pretty snappy too....maybe not as snappy as the ETEN's sumsung processor but definitely fast enuf.... wasnt able to check out Wi-Fi but im sure that'll ok.... coz most of the iPAQs dont have a problem with WiFi..... im just hooked on to the Trinity... so waiting for that.... God knows how long i'l have to wait.... but hey i have decided ill wait...
