Problems and the future

I'd say 70% of the time when I get a phone call, this phone rings once and then goes into a soft reset. There are no other problems associated directly with the phone function of the device. I have cleaned the notification cue but I have not done a hard reset.

Any ideas?

A second question: As time goes by little (so far) things break, giving me the idea that there may be, considering the price of these things, a relatively short life span. I hate to spend more money (battery, stylus, etc) on this device, if it's reaching it's life expectancy. On the other hand I have not drive psychological need to buy a new one.

Anybody care to share their experience or ideas about this issue?

are you running any kind of programs that may be interfering with the functionality of the phone such as 3rd party caller id, 3rd party bluetooth software, etc? that may be the issue with your missed calls.

if the issue is unresolved, i would run sktools and or memmaid to clean up the registry and temp files that may have accumulated.

it may also be a problem with your sim card. how old is your card?

if all else fails a hard reset may fix your phone issues. but remember to back up everything or use a 3rd party backup solution such as resco backup sprite backup etc.

Thanks for the advice.

I've tried all you mentioned except a hard reset. It may be that weakish batteries are at fault.

Could be it's just death by a thousand cuts.

Thanks again.

death by a thousand cuts?

geese, you must listen to creepy music or watch a lot of horror movies

how long does the battery last with the gsm radio on? it doesn't sound like a battery issue to me

Well,

by "death by a thousand cuts" I mean that my rw6815 has various non-fatal but annoying problems.

A "fresh" battery helped. However, what really helped was a hard reset and not reinstalling software that I really wasn't using (SQB Weather for example). Trimming the software to non-essential packages and/or the hard reset solved the dropped calls problem.

This phone is like the proverbial beaver colony, one damned thing after another.

Thanks for your help.
