New Rx5915 Questions
I needed a pda that had wm5, and I was going to get an x51v as an upgrade from my x50v, but when I saw the Rx5915 Travel Companion I thought it was the coolest thing, so I bought it.

One of my main uses will be contact management. Does it have the same functionality as any other pda that uses wm5 when it comes to contacts and software such as Pocket Informant?

I noticed there haven't been any posts lately about this product. How are your impressions now after having owned it for awhile?

Thanks

Steve, it operates just like the 51v. You can add any program that you would put in the axim.

The GPS functions of this unit are great. Have used it for a trip to Utah and New Mexico. It took me door to door without a single hickup. You'll enjoy this unit.

The only real negative I've read about this device is that is does not include A2DP in its Bluetooth profiles and so you can not use a Bluetooth Stereo headset with it.

Thanks to both of you. I'm so excited to get this thing. I love my x50v, but it won't sync with outlook 2007's business contact manager. And I don't want to upgrade the OS. It will be cool to have a totally new device, and I use gps all the time. Schweeeet!

You will have all the functionality of a PDA with WM5 except for having phone capabilities. The memory is quite large adding more flexibility.

I suggest you download TomTom Home to make sure your GPS is fully updated. This site also allows downloading of new mapps, voices or POI's.

Love my T.C. Rx5915
I have had mine for over a year and it is very useful. I am having a little problem with the SD slot lately, but not enough to discourage my usage. I am upset with Dell for discontinuing the Axim, but rather sell iPAQ's. I will NEVER buy a Dell product. The day that I found out the Axim X5, which I relied on for over 5 years, was no longer going to be sold mine did a hard start and I lost all the programs. This all happened when Best Buy and Circuit City all stopped selling Pocket PC's. However, they do not seem to think the Travel Companions are a Pocket PC with GPS, but they sell them in the GPS department which is alright with me. I like the fact that the screen can be oriented portrait and landscape. I like the wireless capability. It was useful when I was away on a trip for me to keep updated with AvantGo.

I agree about the TomTom Home. However, I am shocked that it is based in England and that any maps and updates will cost double what they would if they were available here.
