Quicklaunch & TOMTOM

I have a rx5935 and have a couple of questions...

1) Is it possible to modify / edit the content of the quick launch screen? if so how...

2) TomTom used to show on the today screen - not now, it seems to have gone AWOL... How do I get it back? BTW does not show on the settings => today => items list...

Thanks in advance

Dont know how to do it properly...
But in the registry,
HKey_Current_User / Software / HPLauncher
are the items found in Quick Launch.
It may be possible to redirect them to the desired programs....
But I cant see how the sub-menu system is derived, unless it is simply hardcoded.

Don't modify your registry yet. I had the same model and if I understand correctly, you want to override the HP Today screen and choose how YOU want the screen to display. I'm doing this from memory b/c it's been awhile. Go to start > settings > today
I bet you'll see two tabs. one of them determines what programs appear on the today screen. Choose that tab. Look for the HP launcher and uncheck it. let me know if that was correct. If not, post back or pm me and we'll get you going.

start > settings > today - has 2 tabs, Appearance & Items.
Checking/Unchecking HP Launcher in Items determines whether it appears in the list; but I think the plan is to somehow change what is then displayed from the HP Quick Launch application.

Also - when I am in TomTom, it has messed with what I set the buttons to do (since I had to do a hard reset, maybe) -- the top button now goes to the HP Quick Launch screen no matter what other app I set it to from Start/Settings/Buttons..

Thanks Morris yes you are right, you can re-direct the icons to different programs using the registry here. Now just to find a way of changing the icons! (alternatively use another task manager like SPB Pocket Plus etc

Start=>Settings=>today just changes the today screen items, not the HP task launcher - thanks anyway Steve-O

Morris - sorry I haven't tried to remap my hardware buttons so can't comment on your current problem. Sounds like I don't want to either!

SPB Pocket Plus will work fine. I used SBSH iLauncher myself.
Morris, one of the button mapping programs will let you set different buttons for different apps, if I remember correctly. It is called Vito Button Mapper, and on their website they claim, "ButtonMapper can handle button settings for each program separately."
