Skype(r) no Skyping!

I have just installed Skype on my Ipaq and have disocvered that I cannot make voice calls with skype. A quick check of the Skype homepage reveals that at this time skpye 2.2 for pocket pc does not support voice chat for the samsung processor that resides in the rx4540.

Another bizarre example of an inexplicable reluctance on the part of the major electronics companies to allow consumers to get the most out of their devices. I have just upgraded from a Dell Axim X5 which I have owned since 2003. Now with a Wifi CF card on board and a decent set of headphones I had no problems at all using Skype - including voice calling.

The search is on for a another work around and in the meantime I will apply pressure on Skype to rectify this idiocy!!

I understand the issue is with the type of processor used. Both the rx5935 and rx4540 use the same processors (Samsung SC32442). The latest version of SKYPE does not work with these machines, but an earlier version does. That was my point. I was trying to help - obviously this was missed...

Oh - yes of course, I totally did miss what you were saying - I have 2.2 on my rx4540. Is there any way of getting v2.1 or is it no longer available?

I seem to remember it took some searching to find the earlier version. Can't remember where I got it from but I'm sure some googling will solve the problem...
