The one that works with h4100 series works.

cradle
When you buy the cradle do you also have to buy a special adapter for it? It seems that is what they say.

$50 bucks seems a lot for something that doesn't even have the AC adapter built in.

You can also check on ebay for some cheaper versions - I see them out there all the time, just check your buyer first!

I think the AC Cable required for it is the one that should have come with your iPAQ. As you can see here you can buy the sync cable http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/sh...cross_ link=1
and it also requires an ac cable to be purchased seperatly. Which I would assume is the same thing that you may have plugged into your current cable.

Thanks I thought that might be the case. I didn't want to order anything until I was sure.

I bought and returned 2 cradles for the 1900 that would not fit my 1950. Be sure of what you are buying.

You shouldn't need one. The hx1955 fits into the same one as the h4155/h4355. I'm not sure about the older h1900 series, there seems to be some questions on that end.

Any old cradle should work
I found a cradle for an old IPaq (from the days when they were Compaq). It didn't fit right away, but with a little bit of modification everything works fine such as charging the battery and sync the ipaq with the PC. Voltage on the old adapter is the same, so is the connector for the syncronization.

I have a cradle from my old 1945. The connector is backwards from the rx1955. How did you modify your cradle? I did not see a good way to do that when I took it apart.

modifying the cradle isnt a good idea, cause you have to pry it open. But modifying the PDA itself would work. All you need to do is reverse the charger port on the 1950 and there you go.

The proper cradle for the rx1955 is HP part number FA188A#AC3. It doesn't come with an AC adapter, but the one that comes with the unit works.
