iPAQ rx1950 conflicts with D-Link wireless card

Hi guys, first post and couldn't see an answer to my problem from looking around. :)

I've just changed from palm to iPAQ and I'm getting a little messed up. :p

Anyway, the biggest problem I have at the present moment is when I connect my iPAQ it will take over control of my wireless internet connection. I see the iPAQ connecting like when I insert my wireless d-link card, so what I've been doing is disconnecting from the internet, but this is getting annoying.

Do I have to do this everytime I want to sync my iPAQ, or should I be able to stay online when I sync?

I've read about ipods and assigning different drives to devices, and I was wondering if I need to do something like that, but don't know how.

Any help greatly appreciated. And if anyone knows of a good freeware program for a converter for temp, volume, measure, etc & a password manager it would be appreciated too.
