Free PocketTV Pro upgrades for Rx3xxx series
If you have an iPaq Rx3xxx series, you probably have noticed that it comes with PocketTV Pro in ROM (a $50 value).

Just like those who purchased PocketTV Enterprise Edition, you are entitled to free upgrades.

Since the ROM of the iPaq Rx3xxx series was frozen, a few weeks ago, we have continued to improve PocketTV. For example, we have recently added new optimized stretching routines allowing you to scale the video to Fullscreen without noticeable performance hit.

To install the free upgrade:

1) Make sure that all your important data are backed-up (just in case).

2) Soft reset your device (i.e. press the reset button), to ensure that no application is running.

3) Install the free "Trial" version of PocketTV Enterprise Edition (version 0.15.0 or higher), that you can download from www.pockettv.com . To install it, run the setup file on your desktop while your device is connected and sync'ed.

4) You may be asked to register. Registration is free at www.pockettv.com/register . Once you enter your key, the PocketTV Pro upgrade should be fully activated!

5) No need to remove the old PocketTV Pro, since it is stored in ROM (it would not free any memory space). The old ROM'ed PocketTV Pro is in \Program Files\PocketTV Pro ROM\, in case you need to use it.

If you use PocketTV Pro frequently, we recommend to install the latest upgrade, to benefit from the latest improvements. For details, check the release notes at www.pockettv.com/release-notes.html .

Please give us feedback and let us know (in this thread) if you have been able to install the free PocketTV Pro upgrade on your device.

Enjoy!

I am not sure what your question is - my understanding is that PocketTV is an Mpeg player for your rx37xx.

any chance pocketTV updates will get rolled into new ROM updates from HP, it would be great to get all of this back into ROM.

I second usayd. However, it does play some file formats than betaplayer, but not sure if the new betaplayer plays these other formats. Never really use pocket tv. Waste of RAM space to be honest.

Any possiblity of M4V support(the format apple uses for video podcasts)? That would be a great feature!
