rx3715 problems
Help, my 5 day old rx3715 keeps crashing a 15 secs or so. Not sure what the problem is, but I've hard reset it about 20-30 times since I've had it, as well as probably 100 soft resets!! Any ideas anyone? It was working fine for the frist couple of days, but started to go wrong last night.

I've just converted from my Sony Clie (and Palm Pilots before that) and can say I am not very impressed. In about 5 years of owning Palm products I have probably ever done 10 hard resets, but in less than a week of owning PPC I have done 3X as many!! People warned me that I would be restting a lot, but this is just crazy!!

Just a thought, can PPCs get virii (is that the plural of virus?), just like a normal PC? If so, what can I do.

Somebody please help, before I throw it out the window!!

I doubt seriously if it's a virus. Most probably it's one of two things --- either you loaded some software on it that it didn't like the taste of, or there's a serious hardware problem. If you've done the hard-reset bit, which would clear out any programs you've loaded and return it to factory defaults, I'd run it back to where you bought it and tell them you want another one, that many resets is just crazy......

I agree with wzielenski, that number of resets is just nuts. I have had my rx3715 for nearly four weeks and have not done even one hard reset. (I also just came from clie) And have only done soft reset after backups.

I would say if you hard reset, do not add any software, and it messes up it has to be a hardware problem. If it only happens when you add software then it's something you are adding. Hope you are able to figure it out!

I have been using a rx3715 for a couple of weeks with no issues at all. I also agree that it is most likely software that you loaded on your device that is causing your device to have issues.

Backup your device and do a hard reset. Before loading anything see if you are having those crash problems. Then load your apps one by one until it crashes. Then you will find the culprit.

Not all software developed for the PPC is 100% compatible with your device. Also rx3715 is running WM2003 SE which is a newer OS. Some software packages are still playing catch-up to being WM2003 SE compatible.

OK, I've started from scratch now.
Today, I've been running the standard apps + TomTom 3and so far all is OK.
I've just put spb pocket plus on and there was an error on setup, something to do with TomTom. So I uninstalled it, and re-installed it. This time it went in cleanly. However, every now and again I lose the close or OK button (in the top right of the screen) and I can't exit out of the application. So far this has only happened in the pocket plus settings screens. To exit, I have to soft reset. Do you think this is the culprit? Anyone else running spb pocket plus on the rx3715? The good news is that I'm not experiencing any crashes at the moment.

I am almost certain that your problem is SPB Pocket Plus. It has caused problems with other devices before. Uninstall that and use the PPC for awhile and see how it acts.
