Problems with HP iPAQ rx 3715
I am having some problems with an HP iPAQ rx3715 that, I recently purchased. I guess they are not major problems, just nuisances, as I can still use the system. I have my hunch that, the problem/problems are coming from the windows mobile operating system. I upgraded the Rom, but that has not solved it. I have ran across some other software utilities that may help, but am hesitant to put too much on unless I know for sure if it will really work and if it will create more problems. Anyhow, I will describe what is happening, in hopes that someone who has more experience than I have with these systems can offer some solutions. So here it is:

Problem 1: itask control button on front of unit is not responsive. Does not activate any menus or anything, when depressed. Thus, I have found that until this is fixed, I cannot even do a hard reset as this is one of the
buttons that must be used to activate the reset cycle.

Problem 2: Don't know whether, I should classify this as a problem or not however this is something else that isn't working either. Anyway the HP Image Zone shortcut button is not working either.

Lastly Problem 3: The 5 way navigational control button is not performing down scrolling on the screen or either right or left scrolling when this button is depressed.

Well, that's it. Hope I have described everything and would be most grateful, if someone has some good solutions/suggestions on this. I have looked in a lot of places and haven't came up with anything to correct this yet. If the operating system is causing this, I don't know how, I can get an upgrade unless Microsoft has some available.

Thanks Again, Hope to hear from someone.

Thanks

I do not have that device but did you check under settings, buttons and see if the button and scrolling were changed to something different. regarding the image zone shortcut, is that a link shortcut on screen. if so, you probably can just replace it with a new shortcut link for that. If that is a hardware button, check under settings also.

On the older WM devices, when power was depleted and or all batteries removed, they would automatically do a hard reset, which may help you.

Hopefully, someone with your device can give some feedback to you.
