1. download the german rom update, make sure its for the rx3715
2. unpack the german update, then cancell the update
3. good idea to rename the folder so that you know its the german update
4. download the english update,make sure its for the rx3715
5. unpack the english update, then cancell the update

7. you now have two folders, (usually in root of C drive), one german and one english update.
8. connect your ipaq to your PC via USB and active sync, (note don't use a hub)
9.copy the enterbootloader.exe from the german update to the ipaq
10 . run enterbootloader.exe on the ipaq
11. The ActiveSync Connection is now lost e.g ‘Not Connected’
12. go into the german folder and run the update (ROMUpdateUtility.exe)
13. the rom should then update, wait til its finished
14. connect your ipaq to your PC via USB and active sync, (note don't use a hub)
15. copy the enterbootloader.exe from the english update to the ipaq
16. run enterbootloader.exe on the ipaq
17. The ActiveSync Connection is now lost e.g ‘Not Connected’
18. go into the english folder and run the update (ROMUpdateUtility.exe)
19. the rom should then update
20. Filestore should then be repaired, in fact after the german update mine was repaired
First time I also received the error message mentioned earlier ‘Device ID incorrect, other version of IPAQ’ when trying to update with the German ROM image.
But I did not start the enterbootloader.exe on the IPAQ then, because when used the AS connection is lost. And it is emphasized that an AS link should be available.
Second try I did start the enterbootload.exe on the IPAQ, which resulted in the AS link to be ‘not connected’. However I now could update with the German ROM version, which corrected my issue with the File Store. Was indeed even corrected after the German Update ran successfull.
Then I used the same procedure to go back to the English version.
