This was unuseful for me. I tried also with other languages roms (not only German and Enligh) but I got blocked everytime by the update saying that wasn't an RX3715 or superior.
I sent it to HP and they replaced the mainboard.. hoping that won't happen again.

Anyway, I couldn't try the RICOUK method because PDA was sent before, I hope not to try it in future.. :)

1. Download the latest English and German ROMs.
2. Unpack both.
3. Make copies of the unpacked English and German ROMs.
4. With the original German ROMfolder, rename "d2b10111go.nbf" to "d2b10111uo.nbf".
5. Run "ROMUpdateUtility.exe" in the original English ROM folder.
6. On the screen just before proceeding with the ROM update (After the checks) copy the renamed "d2b10111uo.nbf" from the original German ROM and overwrite the "d2b10111uo.nbf" in the original English ROM.
7. Proceed with the ROM update.
8. It will take a very long time to start and longer than normal at 90% but be patient.
9. Now you have a German pda. Check that the filestore is now fixed by deleteting the backup folder in the filestore and/or running the format filestore found under sttings (use the icons to direct you if you can't read German).
10. If it works you now need to install the English ROM back again we need to trick the ROM update again.

11. You can now delete the two original unpacked English and German ROMs just leaving the copies of them. (This is purely to make it easier and I will refer to them as just the English and German ROMs).
12. With the English ROM, rename "d2b10111uo.nbf" to "d2b10111go.nbf".
13. Run "ROMUpdateUtility.exe" under the German ROM folder.
14. After all of the checks and just before proceeding with the update copy the "d2b10111go.nbf" from the English ROM and overwrite the "d2b10111go.nbf" in the German ROM.
15. Proceed with the ROM update. Again, it will take a very long time but be patient.
16. Run the format filestore program found under settings just to make sure it is fixed.
17. Now you are back in English with a fixed filestore.
18. Enjoy



I have the rx3115 and am getting the "wrong image" message as well
There is no German updates for this model......would this work with a different
language?

So it has never been synced with my pc. Is it a brick, or could
I use the SD??

Any language will work, just make sure hat the filenames are named correclty. In other words, reanme each file to the other language. I didn't make it clear that it doesn't have to be the German ROM but it was easier to make the step by step with just one language ROM due to the file name change. I tried to flash my BIOS the Way RICOUK described but I get the message that I need an IPAQ RX3715 model, which I do!!

When I try D-meter's method I get the message that there is a connection error. I use a USB-cable is that causing the problem? Cuz I don't have a cradle....

Can anybody please help?? It's very annoying that the FileStore is locked

I got this error when I did this once and it was because I did not copy the edited d2b10111uo.nbf (originally d2b10111go.nbf) at the correct time. I haven't done this fix for a long time and I have forgotten exactly which screen you have to copy it over with but I think it is the summary one. The screen after the screen after the verification process (Does that make sense).

The only other thing is that have you got the usb sync cable connected directly to you computer and not through a hub.

Hmm, well what you describe is everything that I have done :(

I already have 1.0.11 installed (the lastest version) maybe that's causing a problem?

It worked fine for me and I have 1.0.11.

All I can think of is to start right from scratch.
Redownload all the necessary ROM files and then follow the steps again.

If you like I can send you a zip file which has the ROM images I used, plus the edited English ROM disguised as the german ROM and the german ROM disguised as the English ROM. I can guanertee that these files definatly work. Send me a PM with your email address if you want, however, it is 92.4Mb so leave that as your last resort.
