Don't let your battery die. All of your data is stored in RAM memory, which is preserved by the battery. If the battery dies, everything in RAM memory is lost. With your pocket pc, there is no way around it.

Monitor your battery regularly and plug the pocket pc up to AC power whenever you are not using it. Allowing your battery to die is very bad for your battery as well - it will shorten the battery's life.

Use the IPAQ Backup software on the pocket pc to perform regular backups of your data to a storage card. Then if you are ever in this situation again, you can restore your data and be back in business in minutes.
