Get Connected ?

I have an HP1710 rz Pocket PC running Pocket PC 2003 ActiveSync Version 3.8.0.
When I try an connect though ActiveSync icon on task bar I am unable to connect, I click on "File/Get Connected " the Wizard starts but I’m getting this message "Your device was not detected”, if I unplug the USB cable and re-connect, the PPC syncs ok.

By chance are you turning it off when it is plugged into the Sync/power cord still?
And then re-turning the unit on and getting no connection?

If so,just unplug an re plug it in to the sync cable.

If not,Could ya give us some more info on how it happens when it loses connection?

I have found out what was causing the problem in connection settings I had ticked "Allow serial cable or infrared connection to this COM port" unticked it and all was well. Thank you for your time.
