iPod Case

What is the best iPod case? I like the contour design clear case, they actually have two - one that is all clear and one that has a rubberized back. Has anyone had any concerns with using a leather case with a magnetic closure? I would think that the magnet would be a "hazzard" to the hard drive.

Those magnetic closures pose no harm to the magnetic media on the iPod or any of the other devices either. Those Mythbuster guys on that Discovery Channel program proved it. I have magnetic closures on my cell phone case and iPAQ case and have had for several years with no problems. I even keep my credit cards in my cell phone case and they are perfectly fine. Bottom line, there are so many cases for the the iPod it's hard to pick one, but if there's a case you like that has a magnetic closure, go ahead and get it.

Wow, thanks for the info swhoutx035! I always thought that a magnetic closure even on cases would damage credit cards. Now I'm not so hesitant to put my credit cards in my cases with magnetic closures... Though I do have to state that the maker of my case, Sena, says not to but credit cards in the case so maybe there IS merit to the "magnets kill credit cards" theory.

I am still hestitant to put anything magnetic around anything that has a hard drive. Overcautious I guess.

Thanks for the link. I have JavoEdge screen protectors and if your cases are half as durable and well made as your screnn protectors then you've got me sold!

I quite like the clear plastic cases. Fairly cheap, but I got a black iPod for a reason, and I don't like the fact that most cases cover the body of the iPod up.

I agree with you kjk437, I also have a black ipod and have found a clear case. I also use a clear protector on it so that when I take it out of the case to use with FM transmitter it won't get scratched. I haven't found any that I really like, just the cheap 4.99 ones.
