I just put together my first laptop. It's a barebones Elitegroup ECS 536S. I payed $200 new at a liqidation sale and it needed a HDD, CPU amd RAM. It came with an internal wifi card. I got the CPU new (AMD Sempron 3000+ 1.8GHz socket 754) from EBay for $16.99 shipped. The HDD is a 40 Gig 5200 RPM that I got for free from my IT person at work. Running it is Win XP SP2 that I had sitting around to use in another project. I sure cant beat it for Less that $267 total. It runs fast and it can do alot more than what I.m ever going to do with it. If anyone wants to see pics, I can post some.
