please help me decide which notebook i should get...
please help me decide which would be best. i want a durable powerful notebook. i wanna enjoy watching blu-ray movies on my notebook. and download lots of music and picture also movies. i have a 500 gb external hard drive; notebook dont really need a huge hard drive. ok this is what i have in mind...

please help me. let me know if these are good configurations,is it reliable , which is the best one. i had sony vaio fz4000 but i think its to delicate and harder to maintain. plus i dont want to spend more than $2,100. oh and which OS(windows) will be best? thank you.

they both look loaded to me. I'd check out the opinions on c/net.com also see if amazon has any opinions. Both look good.

They look pretty similar. If I had to answer now, I'd say the Dell. However, I just got my Consumer Guide the other day with a section on laptops. I'll check it out when I get home and reply later today.

Here's the scoop from Consumer Guide: Based on Best Buy, the Dell wins out. However, the screen size puts them in different categories. The plus for the HP is the screen size, battery life, and hard drive space. The plus for the Dell is performance, features, and graphics.

So, you make the call. What's most important to you?

You might also want to look at the Dell 1721 or the HP dv6700t. Both got good reviews in their categories. In fact, the Dell 1721 was considered the overall best buy.

Good choice. And remember if you require more processing power or memory amongst other things, with Dell its a bit more straight forward at the point of order.
