Laptop choice

I am getting a laptop, it is said that the Dell XPS 1530 is very good, I have found a deal on the Dell XPS M1530 2GHz 4GB 320GB 15.4in laptop for $1199 . And recently Hp is offering a 25% off $999 sale on the customizable HP Pavilion laptops with coupon code NB5579. Which should be a better choice, if my budget is around $1200?

By my recent Consumer Guide, both Dell and HP models get good marks. It's more about what you want in the laptop. Screen size, Processor speed, physical size, loaded software, etc. What's good for me may not be best for you. :)

Personally, I like the Dells. I have one, like it a lot, and it hasn't failed me yet after three years. :approve:

we have two HP laptops (17 and 15 inch) and have no issues - we use them for gaming, surfing, applications, recording, multimedia

Thanks for your response, I need that laptop for music, surfering, movie, games sometimes. I have a desktop and have used to the big screen but don't want to get somthing very heavy, so maybe 15.4" or 14" should be good for me.
