Well my mum needs a laptop, just a basic one though. Nothing fancy or la di da. Just a basic one where she can type up her work. Not expensive and not 2nd hand. And I found two online
Presario CQ60-224NR 15.6" Notebook PC
PC Connection - Acer Aspire One AOD150-1197 Atom N270 1.6GHz 1GB 160GB bg NIC WC 3-cell 10.1" WSVGA XPH Black
I don't know how to choose. These two just seem better than others. How do you guys think? Could someone link me some others, it will be purely just word.

The Compaq is a lower end laptop and the acer aspire is more like a netbook. The best thing to do when buying a laptop or anything online, is check around at several vendors to see who has the best price for your needs. A good site to check would be newegg.com or even buy.com. Sometimes buy.com has great deals on refurb systems. Or, go directly to the manufacturer's site (HP, Dell, etc). Sometimes they will have promotions going where you can get a great deal.

I think it mainly depends on screen size. If I were in your shoes, I would still be hesitant to buy those netbooks. If it is mobility she wants, I would recommend of the X-series by Lenovo.

The Acer Aspire one lacks storage (Only 160GB), you might want to get something to the tune of 250GB or 320 GB...
