Control panel opens on startup

My friend has an inspiron 5400 and everytime he turns it on the control panel opens. I tried going to msconfig but there werent any options that seemed out of the ordinary that would lead to this happening.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Coop

Go to Start>All Programs>Startup and see if the Control Panel is there. If it's not, open the control panel and go to Tools>Folder Options>View. Scroll down to a check box called "Show Control Panel in My Computer". It should be unchecked. :exc:

This is assuming you have XP. I can't tell you anything about Vista. :(

Update - I did a quick search online. Many users are finding the Dell Connection Manager causes this problem. The only solution seems to be uninstalling it.
