Nice Start has issues with my x50v. When the system auto locks, the default key pad will come up, not nice start. I have seen many people complain about this, and Nice Start developers have no answers. I keep going out to their website and have seen no upgrades that fix this.
So - I am in the market for some new software to lock my PPC.
I am going to keep my eye on this software, once some users have used it for a while. Then maybe I will purchase it.
I had issues with Nice Start, 1-Pass, and Softava's PicturePassword for awhile. I'm 99% certain these issues arose from WA2. If you've got it installed, I'd recommend trying out the latest beta that's available in the Lakeridge Software forums.
After doing this, the only time I get the default key pad is if it locks with some memory-intensive app running.

Hey, the issue I get with NiceStart is more often than not, the default password screen comes out instead of NiceStart. I have to reset to be able to get the NiceStart screen again.
Oops, if sorry it's off the main topic. :(

Actually I'm the one that should apologize for threadjacking since I'm the one that brought up Nice Start in the first place.
Back to my original question: anyone know if Pocket Secure is or will be WM5 compatible?

First, I'm sorry that the Pic in the first post is that of Version 1.0... I've sent Frenchy an email asking him to change them to the v.2.0 pic's

I couldn't find any info on the software's website on compatibility.
With the way that this app is written, it should work with WM5. Although, with this release, I haven't tested as of yet. If however Pocket Secure does not work with WM5, then another update will be released soon that will !! :)

I have the latest WA2, and had some early issues with ver.1.0, but have since written some additional code to make Pocket Secure "Play Nice" with WA2. No more issues !

I also have an x50v, and Pocket Secure works beautifully on it ! Also, more then half of my Beta testers have x50v's also. No Problems... Give the 'Trial' a try !

maybe the name of the application is misleading.
youd thinked poketsecure
would involved, encrypting file/folder, secure wifi/bluetooth.
all it does is the one thing (as far as i can see)
Pocket Secure's 'Main Function' is to keep the device Locked so no one can get to private info.. There are some additional features as well. Give it a try, you may like it !!! :)
I can see the directory where it's installed, but nothing there seems to be any application. I tried settings > password > nothing there either...

What OS did you download ?? Should have installed files in \Program Files\Pocket Secure !! Is there a CAB file in there, or Pocket Secure.exe ??
I think I downloaded the PS2003SE /VGA...
Yup, it's under \Program Files\Pocket Secure. There is a cab file there, but no *.exe. I tap on the cab file, and didn't do anything.
And when is this going to be available on Handango? If this thing works out, that's where I want to purchase it.
Thanks.

Ok, I just downloaded the 2003SE_VGA version, and installed on my x50v. I have a small "install.exe" in there that should automatically run the CAB. It doesn't seem to be working. I will replace the file on the website.
However, when I tapped on the CAB file, it installed just fine !!
I downloaded the same file as you, so it should work for you also..
If you can't get the CAB to run, then PM your email, and I'll send you a new CAB ! The one you have should work though !
Pocket Secure 2.0 will be available on Handango & Pocketgear by sometime Saturday !
i downloaded the PS2003SE version for my X50v and installed the program. First of all it doesn't let me choose where to install it (main memory or a storage card). Secondly only a .cab file is present in the PocketSecure folder. So I have to install again with that .cab file. This time a PocketSecure.exe file shows up.
When I clicked on the PocketSecure.exe file, a day and time window shows up, occupying only 1/4 of the screen. My x50v is in true VGA mode, is this why? Do I have to use the fake VGA mode? I use true VGA mode 99.9% of the time. I can't do anything further.
Thanks for the effort anyway, I will keep using Nice Start although it's buggy too, but at least it works with my true VGA mode.
