RescuePRO is definitely not the only utility available that can recover flash memory, etc. On Howard2K's advice, I started using the FREE version of Handy Recovery and it's saved some of my cards that were supposedly wiped out. :approve:

I'm surprised you didn't try the free demo first, it will show you what it can find on the card before you pay for the full version.

So you found that Handy Recovery worked to recover your files on the same card that RescuePro couldn't recover the files?

Does that mean Handy Recovery is better?

I have never used either program since I haven't needed to do any recovery yet, but you never know when you need to be ready, so it would be good to know which one is better. Thanks. :approve:

I personally haven't tried RescuePRO so can't say which one is better. I was merely pointing out that Sandisk is not the only one to offer a data recovery utility and that there are some good free options as well.

The Recovery Pro doesn't show you what is in the files it finds. You cannot look at them or play them. When I ran the demo I wrongly thought it had found the missing and badly needed pngs but it didn't, just some old versions of existing files.

Now when I ran Handy Recovery it found some things but against I screwed up. It also takes some time to fully analyze the SD, 1 Gig in size. I had to stop to go to a customer site, will try again tonight.

Mike

Is the 30 day trial the free version, or is there another version that is the free version that is available?

I think I just found it. http://www.handyrecovery.com/handyrecovery-fw.exe

Thanks psylophone. You`re right, I shouldn`t worry so much!
