Minimo or ‘Mini Mozilla’ is getting better and better the latest version .010, an update from the original version .005, for the Pocket PC was released yesterday. Minimo if you aren’t familiar is a PPC Internet browser. This new version offers to Pocket PC users a very good alternative to PIE.
In this new version the Developper fixed the following:
* SmartPhone accessiblity.
* Improved scrolling support.
* Automatic form fill.
* Support for WinCE 5.0
* Adding a stub runner application to avoid loading two large processes.
* Improved popup window handling.
* UI Zooming
* Intergrated Search Toolbar
The Minimo (Mini Mozilla) project has been focused on code-size and runtime footprint reduction, small screen usablity, and porting to small consumer devices. We hope to make Minimo the browser of choice on small devices, or machines with limited system resources; taking advantage of Mozilla's support for a broad and comprehensive set of standards and the variety of content on the web, proven security, international support, and cross platform capability.
Doesn't work on X50v? What a bummer. I got so excited when I saw this on the front page. Maybe it will be added in the near future. I hate the way Pocket IE runs in standard VGA and I hate switching to real VGA when I want to go on line. I'd really love a browser MADE for VGA.

Why do you say that? I just installed it on my x51v and looks real nice, doesn't pixel double the pictures, looks more like a real webpage, if it works well, will be real nice!
I'm downloading it now. I know the previous version doesn't support the Axim x50's, if that's the case, it should be mentioned on the front page...
But, someone sayz it does... Will see...

booo....nice find but doesnt work on x50v or x51v...damn...besides this what is the best PPC browser out there? (Preferably free or cheap :))
ftxPBrowser for pocketpc 2002 also works on 2003. doesnt handle cookies unless you already have them loaded thru explorer, but has multiple pages, full screen and other goodies. Wish i remember where i got it from. Hope it helps.
Unfortunately there is an outstanding issue w/ the 50v. It should work on the 51v and the 50. I made the request for this to be made into frontpage news with the hope that I would find a good x50v developer who could get in contact w/ Doug, the developer of Minimo. This is a plea for someone within dell's engineering dept or someone who's very familiar w/ how the 50v is designed to step forward and offer Doug some assistance. PM me please!
I would LOVE feedback guys. Anything and everything! Minimo will be what you guys make it.

Edit: Seems a little pokey, but real good start
Good to hear its running for you. Yes Minimo is still a little pokey but its young. Its better than .001 which was my first run at it! Size has been reduced every build and speed + feature support increased. I choose to have this made into news beacuse I believe this build is really starting to get things going.
I'm trying this on my JasJar (installed to the SD card), when I run minimo.exe I get a small white box in the middle of the screen with the Mozilla logo and that's it. Any ideas?
Quoting an email from Doug Turner (Minimo's Developer) that I recieved today in regards to a JasJar"
"Yes, There is one thing you can try -- but it involves a HARD reset.
1) Hard reset
2) After the setup screens, and before the Today Screen is displayed, a
dialog appears saying something like:
Installing customizations in 3 seconds....
3) At this point, _soft_ reset
This will prevent any TMobile specific software from being loaded.
Try installing Minimo at this point and see if that worked. :-)
I have an Imate JasJar and this is what I had to do.
Doug"
Also something else is to check your memory settings and be sure you have enough memory allocated to Minimo. Minimo is a bit of hog still and sometimes this has been the issue. While there double check that you dont have a minimo window hidding in the backround (check your running program list) if its there try switching to it. That should bring it up. This backround jumping is a new issue to builds shortly before this milestone release. Doug has indicated it will be fixed before .011.
How does its engine compare to PIE though?
I know PIE cant render certain sites properly, aka: gmail.
