Didn't you the thread on using your Axim to impress women?
If you whip out an axim at a bar or any public places, you'd definately attract more guys then girls... unless your at like a woman's day fesitival (is there such a thing?) (hee hee)

I've got 5 remotes in my living room and have been thinking about getting this package for a while now. I haven't gotten it yet because
a) I think I need tactile feedback to use a remote quickly and without looking at the buttons or anything. I'm skeptical about the efficiency of using a touch-screen remote.
b) I like to read email and surf the web while laying on my couch and watching tv or listening to music, it might be a bit of a pain using my axim like that AND using it to control the tv/stereo or whatever.
Well I've got it for my X5 and I think its great - It replaces 12 items in my house and is great when you cant find the remotes your daughters have taken. The devices it replaces are
TV x 3
Video x 3
DVD x 3
Surround sound x 1
Stereo x 2
Very cheap and easy to design the buttons for the display.

It's tempting though
5 Remotes + their devices + websurfing/email. isn't that a little to much? even with the most efficient devices thats multitasking like a mad man :rolling: I don't know how this program works but its gotta have a quick switch between remote for ur tv/stereo/other devices. So if it was up to me, 5 remotes + a ppc or 1 ppc with all remote functions, i'd so go with the ppc! besides it means more room on the coffee table for your feet! I can just imagine fishing the couch cracks for the right remote...
The extender itself would have been nice if it was standard/built into the Axim and not an expansion, the range of the IR on axim x50v is still quite decent compared my old Ipaq's IR abilities, i pretty much had to be in arms length of the tv sometimes!! which made it pointless. The need for the cf slot is the thing that makes me go :(

The CF-based Extender would be nice. The application would have to support True VGA in order for me to use it since I would want cursor buttons and such on a single screen.

have a look at the philips pronto remote control. I have used one for years (actually cannot remember what it was like without it...)
Press a button and the DVD/Amp/TV turns on, TV sound goes down, tv turns to correct tv channel, Amp selects correct input and then its ready to play.
As for where the buttons are, you get used to it, when u design ur own one you will get to know how to get places without needing buttons.
