Lots of improvements. I can also now use my old icons from my other wallet program as custom icons. Looks just like Outlook 2003. Not sure if that is a positive or a negative. lol
How does one obtain the promo code to purchase the product outright? The only thing I could find on the link site was how to obtain a serial number for an upgrade from previously purchased product??

FWD: You have to count out-loud to 10 and then do 5 crunches. After 5 minutes the promo code will appear on your screen!
Send this to 15 or more friends or your axim will hard-reset continuosly for the next 7 years!

You can buy it outright through the Two Peaks website store (don't pick the upgrade) or by just going to Handango and buying it through them.
The two discounts are only for registered users, the nearest I can tell.

30 bucks seems a little steep to me. Looks like a nice program, but I would only give 15 bucks for it. Just my opinion. Maybe they will offer an axim site members only price. :)

well, in PocketPC Thoughts - they do have a 50% discount code...

anyway, im trying to figure out the difference between FlexWallet and SplashID - it is just that I have been using Ss for about two/three years now, with the first half using a PalmOS-based device (it was really easy to "migrate" my records to the PPC)...
can anyone at least note some differences, and let me know what is the better software (of course, in their opinion)...? it is just that there hasnt been much development with SplashID, and may lose support in the future...
cheers!!!

Not sure of the difference between FlexWallet and SplashID, but in my humble opinion, FlexWallet 2005 was better than Ilium's eWallet. It was much more customizable (except for no custom icons/graphics), especially when it came to modifying existing templates or building new ones from scratch.
I'll be installing 2006 tonight and maybe give some feedback tomorrow.

Have you ever had stability problems with FlexWallet? I've used it for a few years and it's been fine, but I have had minor problems here and there. I was tempted to make the move to eWallet if it's rock-solid, albeit a little uglier and older.
I'll look forward to your thoughts after trying the new FW2006.
Okay, after a grand total of about 20 minutes using the new version, here's my take on it.
For my uses, it more than does the job. Functionally it is nearly identical to the 2005 version but there are a number of new features/tweaks.
The first one I noticed on the PPC was that when you copied and pasted a card, you now got a card named "Copy of...." Nothing too extraordinary, but it does help when you're trying to organize your cards.
They also have added a feature to let you designate certain cards as Favorites so that you can open them much quicker instead of sometimes having to burrow through several layers of categories to get to your card.
To make navigation easier, they have added a list view that uses smaller icons so each card takes up less of your screen, allowing you to browse more cards at once.
The mobile version and the desktop version both support using custom icons for your categories and cards, although setting them up can take a little bit of work. Relatively easy once you know what you're doing, but a little hairy until you do. See http://www.twopeaks.com/FlexWallet/CustomIcons.aspx
The desktop version has a few new tweaks, too. The most obvious is the new Outlook 2003-style layout. Not really a major selling point or a detractor.
Probably the most useful changes for the desktop have to do with copying your data to the clipboard. In the 2005 version, you couldn't easily highlight and use CTRL-C to copy the data. Now you can. There's also a small button next to each text field that you can click to automatically copy the data to the clipboard. VERY nice new feature.
Bottom line in my opinion is that this isn't a must-have upgrade, but if you decide to take the plunge, especially with the upgrade discounts, you won't be disappointed. If, however, you don't have a registered version of FlexWallet 2005 or eWallet, I'd highly recommend it. Especially with the 50% off discount from PocketPC Thoughts that's already been mentioned.

I bought the original FW for $3.46 and upgraded to FW2005 for $6.24. Considering Inertial's take (and my cost to date), I think I'll hold off until there is a really big discount, if at all. Don't get me wrong, I use FW for many things, but I am satisfied with current functionality. I get into it at least 5 times a week and know where to burrow or how to search to find a buried item. -mm
