Thanks for the replies. My curiosity is satisfied. Now I just need to save up my pennies for the upgrade!

Any noticable battery usage to keep the extra RAM refreshed?

Runtime is not noticably affected since the chips are on seperate banks. But suspend time is going to be reduced since all the RAM has to be kept 'Alive'.

Yes, I was referring to the suspend time. Sorry about that, I should have specified.

Do you have any guesstimation on how much of a reduction? I wouldn't imagine it would not be too bad with the great battery life the Axim has.

256mb upgrade for Axim

I asked them if they were going to come out with a bigger upgrade... they can bring it up to 256mb for $299. They have no plans to upgrade the internal storage rom.

I think we had a miscommunication. 256MB is not possible. The $299 is for 192MB. 64MB conventional and 128MB as T2T Disk.

This will void the dell warranty. Dell will not support this upgrade. This is why we offer a 90 day warranty with the upgrade.

My question is , I only saw a 128 MB upgrade for the axim's , Is it 'possible to upgrade my axim to 192 MB for $299 ? :D

128MB is the maximum for the Dell Axim Advanced. The PXA25X only supports 64MB per memory bank.

I mis-spoke earlier.
