I always just use TCPMP (Betaplayer). It plays and streams music fine, I can save custom playlists, and it has a bunch of customization settings. Why or how is this software better?

MortPlayer cannot regonize Button 6 (originally for wireless power) on x50v. I added a "not listed button" for Button 6 and it works fine inside MortPlayer, but not "in other applications". I want to use Button 6 when I am driving and using GPS without switching between GPS software and mp3 player.
I found that even other buttons are supported outside MortPlayer, my GPS iGuidance minimize itself every time I use MortPlayer's hardware button functions. I need to find something which can restore iGuidance automatically.
finally, I implementated this function with the help of MortScript with a simple script:
SendLeft "MortPlayer"
Show "iGuidance"
and attaching the script to the Button 6. Other functions can be done in a similar way.
And you kiss your mother with that mouth?
BTW, user of TCPMP, but I do like the look of that thumb-panel. Now I just have to find the right mount and location in my car.

One of the greatest features of MortPlayer is its auto-playlists. If you use a piece of software (or even manually move music to an SD card in a directory structure) it will create multiple playlist automatically on startup, and let you change them with a simple screentap.
I hate, hate, hate having to go to a menu and hit update playlist or whatever. Since PPCs inevitably have less storage than an iPod, I find myself swapping out music quite often.
This feature is useful for say, keeping podcasts seperate from music while remaining accessible by simply going to the next playlist. It can import all it finds, or keep it to a directory (say, SD Card\My Music) to avoid audio notes from NoteM or whatever.
Give it a shot if your needs match above; otherwise, WMP or GSPlayer is fine.
Has anyone had the experience that this poster describes, with funny impacts on contextual menus, after installing this software? Just curious. I haven't used it. I also use TCPMP, but more importantly, I use my iPod.

I love Mortplayer. I've been using it for years; since my old iPaq 3765. I'm not sure about WMP10, but I found 9 grossly inadequate for my needs and I didn't expect much more from 10. I tend to listen to podcast length files, so with a 1 hour or more file on a 25 minute drive to work, I need the ability to pick up where I left off. WMP9 would not do that, in fact I couldn't get it to start a file from anywhere but the beginning.
Mortplayer does this nicely. I can shut the application down and resume play from where I left off. This doesn't work from the car screen, however. You have to go back to the main screen for that to work. The auto playlists are nice.
It's hard to say about any application, but Mortplayer has worked for me for years and it's the one application that I don't go looking for something better to replace.
One of the first programs I installed upon getting my axim. Works just fine for me. Love the Blue Steel skin and one of the Axim users here corrected a few graphics that were out of alignment.
Good review, need to get the new version I suppose then again if its not broken... why fix it.
