What a great player
I just downloaded for my X51V and it works quite well.
Very simple to use, I just erased Pocket Music from my devise. THis program is much better.
To bad I cant erase windows Meadia player. YOu think with all the resources of Microsoft they could have the knowledge to make a program as basic and simple as this.

How well does this work with a network?
From their website it appears that this will let you pull songs off of a network, but I'm not sure. I keep all of my music on our old desktop and have been using PocketMusic to hit the songs. If this will do that then I'm definitely up for it. PocketMusic keeps locking my X30 up!

Friscosooner, I had the same experience with Pocket Music on my Ax 3oh and thought it was me!?!
Switched to Pocket Player and haven't had one hiccup.
Anyway, I had tried Mort Player when I first got my Ax but didn't care for it over GSPlayer but can't really remember why now.
I'd say give the new version a try, I know I will.

Now I remember why I originally deleted MortPlayer! Jeez, talk about needlessly complicated. This may be heresy but I really like being able to simply create playlist that I can use when I want. Their folder design may work for a different type of personality but not mine. Simplicity, folks, wins everytime.

New to the site. I just installed mortplayer and was messing around with it. It seems hard to think there could be a better player out there with its ease of use and setup. I do have one problem and hope someone knows how to point me in the right direction.
Volume control. I work in an office environment and have been using WMP and the only feature that I liked was the volume control and how I could listen to music and very low levels and still be able to here back ground noises. My mortplayer doesnt seem to be able to lower volume levels that low. I have an Axim x50V with the new OS upgrade. My system volume is as low as it will go and I tweaked the mort volume % setting up and down. In the main ecreen when I lower the volume level too low it seems it has a couple more notches but volume is gone. I have searched for info but cannot find any about this issue and assume it is me. Thanks for any help.

Have you checked out the equalizer with pre-amp? I can't remember. Under settings, there is an option for equalizer presets. If you enter that screen, you have a tab for the eqalizer. Hope this works for you. Using headphones, i can listen pretty low and still respond if someone talks to me. good luck.

I thought i tried everything. The Preamp setting was too high so I couldnt get the volume low enough. Lowering the preamp setting did the job. There is no way there could be a better music player out there. thanks. :approve:

Does it have "Microdrive Mode" ? So far The only Music player I know of that does this is TCPMP. I need to save my battery's juice!

Yes it has an energy saving mode for microdrives under Menu\Set Up\Settings\Energy.
The only thing it won't do is play WMA files (GS Playe won't either), which kills both of them for me. So I use TCPMP :approve:

Can't imagine how this could happen. I don't modify any system settings or registry entries outside of HKCU\Software\Mort.

No need to use the folders stuff.
Simply save the current playlist contents with Menu - Playlists - Save (as). Some Skins (like Steel) offer buttons for this, too.
If you set the directory you save your playlists to in the favorites (with "contained playlists" option checked) you can even load them without having to browse through the directory tree.

Wow, so it can play neither MS WMA files nor Apple AACs (m4a)? Hmmmm....
