I would not buy it. Dell needs to stick with a stand alone PDA.

Palm hasn't committed to using ALP, and the fact that they didn't even contribute a quote to the press release would suggest that they're not even looking at it at this point. Besides which, ALP isn't expected to be out until 2007. So I seriously doubt that it would be a deterrant to Palm if they really wanted to sell.

I dunno ... I'm not sure I want absolutely *everything* to be part of one device. The Ax does practically everything else - I don't know if I wanna stick the thing up to my ear, too ... my phone gets all gummed up with sweat and stuff, I'd be constantly cleaning the thing. Of course if it worked as a speaker phone that might be OK. I'm just not sure I'm sold on the idea of an all-in-one just yet.

Of course, now that I've said that, watch me turn right around and go buy one. I sometimes do that.
