I've measured the memory consumption of the new version, as opposed to that of Spb Pocket Plus and Resco Today plug-in (the latest versions of the latter two apps).
The SBSH people must have done something pretty damn well because (or, used the memory model of WM5 very good / dynamically swap their stuff in and out the dynamic memory when it's not needed – I don't know yet) I've consistently measured far better (lower) memory consumption results with the new version than with the previous version.
The results (I've done several tests on my clean x51v to be absolutely sure. I'm also sure about the test methology.):
New iLauncher: about 200-300 kbytes
Previous iLauncher: about 400 kbytes
Spb Pocket Plus 3.04: ~1600 kbytes (everything enabled); ~1400 kbytes (only battery bar and Today plug-in enabled so that it can be directly compared to iLauncher)
Resco 5.35 Today plug-in: about 300 kbytes
This means iLauncher occupies little dynamic RAM on WM5 devices, unlike the latest version of Spb Pocket Plus, which occupies considerably (about 3-4 times) more memory.
Note that these are all WM5 results. I haven't made pre-WM5 memory consumption tests because of lack of time. That is, on PPC2k2/WM2003(SE) devices, the situation may be the opposite.
As promised, I wanted to update you that about 3 hours ago we uploaded a new iLauncher build (titled as version 2.3.01) which resolves the issue that was reported with the first release 2.3.
You can find the download link to the new build from the same thread of the new release since we've updated the download link within the initial thread :)
Let me know how things are working for you of course and if there is anything else I can help with.
BTW - My first PDA (with touch screen support that is) was also Handspring Visor, although mine wasn't the deluxe version :/ (this is without considering some older devices that I had, but they didn't had touch screen support...) :approve:
I would like to use iLauncher but I have been using SPB Pocket Plus because the Ineternet Explorer enhancements (like opening another explorer window). Are there any others programs that enhance the Internet Explorer? Please let me know and so I would try iLauncher. Thanks.
I believe you will want to look for a skin suite called OSX Rev 2 and the icons are part of expea2 which can also be found there. Make sure you get VGA :approve:

I have just installed Version 2.3 "over the top" (as the upgrade instructions recommend).
I don't think it is ever necessary to uninstall previous versions when installing upgrades. I think that when you get the message on the PDA "Program is already installed. Re-install/upgrade?" if you tap on "Yes", the previous version is automatically deleted. It certainly is if the application is running. I discovered this when I recently re-installed PocketBreeze, which was running at the time. When I clicked on "Yes" PocketBreeze closed down and the upgraded version was corectly installed and it then started to run again. The same thing happened when I re-installed iLauncher.
I have only just done the upgrade but, so far, I have not found any bugs at all.:approve:
Thanks Amit for another wonderful upgrade.
I did the same thing as Davrol with 2.3.01 and I couldnt be any happier :approve: .
I Just installed over the old one. Selected "No" which retained my previous settings.
Super update from 2.2 ;Adding captions to shortcuts is a great addon. :)
BIG thanks to Jason, Amit and the folks over at SBSH. Their constant efforts(upgrades)are seriously making me a huge fan of theirs. :) :approve:

Thanks Amit! you guys really deliver :). Downloaded and installed it with no issues whatsoever. I really like the update. Going to be tweaking it over the next few days, but I like the 'captions'.
If anything crops up I'll definately let you know, but its working great so far :)
Yeah Handspring was great for its time :) First touch screen device I ever had and it rocked. However *lol* now with an X51v it would would look sadly outdated, but yeah it was a great device :approve:
Thanks again Amit and I look forward to more great products and updates from the SBSH team. Awesome job. :approve:
V 2.3.01 is superb. I installed it "over the top" as before and it works perfectly. Great work Amit.
Just one small suggestion. The Icon Captions show thw complete file name including ".exe". Would it be possible to remove the ".exe" and just leave the main file name?

Hope this helps. This is what I did: :)
(1)Go to "Shortcuts" under iLauncher Settings
(2)Select the Icon Shortcut you wish to edit
(3)Click on the "Additional.." Button down at the bottom right.
(4)Edit the "Display Name". This is basically the caption name. I edited out the ".exe"s this way, as well as shorten or adjust any names accordingly.
