This could be a nice add-on to any pocket pc - especially my X50v!

CTIA, LAS VEGAS, NV – April 4, 2006 – MobiTV, Inc., the global leader in television and digital radio services for cellular, WiFi and broadband-enabled devices, today announced collaboration with Microsoft to bring the world-class MobiTV® service and user experience to Windows Mobile-powered phones and devices, as well as Windows XP-based PCs and laptops. MobiTV has selected the Microsoft Windows Media platform, including Windows Media Digital Rights Management, Windows Media Audio and Video codecs and Windows Media Player to deliver live, high-quality television content to a broad range of subscribers.

"We look forward to working with Microsoft to extend our incredibly successful mobile television experience to the desktop. It was an easy choice for us to select the Windows Media platform to deliver a superior television experience to millions of laptop and PC users," said Dr. Phillip Alvelda, CEO and chairman of MobiTV. "Microsoft offers an integrated and complete solution that fulfills our vision to deliver the best possible live television experience to consumers, across a range of devices and networks."

$10/mo for only 12 channels (according to their wifi lineup). No thanks.

With hardware solutions such as slingbox and the monsoon HAVA or PC based solutions such as ORB, none of which have monthly fees, Im not sure why people would pay for such a service.

If you could save by cutting out channels you don't want I'd go for it. But out of all those, I'd only want to watch Discover and Cartoon Network.
I'd pay because it's bound to be better quality than a home solution, and I couldn't even get that to work anyway.
I hope they don't restrict people because of their country... This looks like the sort of thing they'd prevent non-US citizens from using :(.
