Loaded it on my X51v first in the storage memory.
Then tried it on my SD card.

It's a little unruly.
The up and down arrows don't work.
And my letter recoqnizer pops up initially.
Also the font size in their popup boxes is really small.
Even if there was a way to make it bigger,
I certainly couldn't read it!

x30 hi A06

I have been looking forward to this for a long time, so I downloaded and installed it.

I actually think that 0.13 (last version?) was faster. It takes about 20 seconds to load, and it uses a ton of ram.

I will say that webpages look amazing on it. I am going to borrow a vga X50 (2003SE) and see how it looks.

Even with 624mhz machines, this software crawls. I think it's going to take a lot of optimization to make it shine.

Okay....

So before I even try this browser I am noticing people are saying there is huge memory issues. There is no way I am going to be able to free up 34MB of RAM to get this thing running. I may be able to get 20 free... Do they even test this program on Axims before they set it out in the wild for people to play with? I mean there are alot of Axims out there... maybe they test it on HP ppc's instead of Axims.. hmm I wonder.
What platform could they be testing it on if when we get it and there are all these issues? I'm sitting this one out.

X30 mid. Uses up all my RAM. Can't figure out how to customize the toolbar. Doesn't import PPC favorites. Can't customize the hardware buttons. Unbelievably slow. Slowest program I've ever used on the Axim. Installing into main memory did not speed things up at all. It doesn't just run slow, it slows down everything else to a snail's pace.

Just not ready for prime time. Good potential, but I'll stick with FTXP browser for now. Even though it hasn't been updated in years, it's still better for now.

The people who are generously donating their time to write it really need to use it themselves. I find it hard to believe there is any PPC that will run it acceptably fast.

Still slow, but much faster than previous versions. Still having trouble posting to these very forums. I like the left-hand toolbar. More stable than previous versions. Still not ready for primetime.

While not ready for primetime, this is very promising. Websites look great, and the interface is good (though resize-ability would be a big plus - some things get REALLY TINY on VGA devices).

Considering PIE isn't great and nothing else seems to be available for the x51v browser-wise, this is great news. Keep up the good work - I'm sure a decently useable version is on its way, in due time.

I am using this now, and i like it a lot over PIE. But if you guys dont like this software, then what are you using? Opera? Ive heard some good things about this browser, do you guys recommend it over minimo? or maybe some other browser?

Thanks

I just installed Opera and it is much faster than Minimo. I like the functionality of Minimo, but the lack of speed and memory eating makes it very undesirable. Give Opera a try for now.
