This looks awesome. Too bad my host (PowWeb) doesn't allow shell logins :realmad:

maybe is a stupid question, but I was wondering if you people, who know how to use ssh, could answer me a couple of questions

1.- If I want to copy a file from the remote server to my axim, what should I write?!
2.- and if I would like to copy a file frome my axim to the server, what should I put?!
3.- is there a wiki guide tossh, or a ssh for duimies available on the net that you know?"

thx in advance

for 1 + 2: Thats SCP, part of SHH protocol, but afaik, not included in putty (with PC version, its a seperate d/l on same page as Putty)

I've been using this for ages on my X5. Too bad I can't try this new version yet, cause its bricked, but when my x50v arrives this week, I cant wait to try it...

Issues/Comments with old version(If this is a new version, don't know what I ran):
- the on-screen keyboard gets in the way of the text: either you have to clear alot, or keep hiding the thing. the screen should be ajusted so it doesn't continue behind the k/b
- no accept button for pw/server (dont remember which)
- No remember server option...

But: This is still an amazing peice of software that I could not live without!
(Would like to see SCP and a NFS client next)

EDIT:
Apparently, that first issue has been fixed :D

I've fixed a few of the more annoying bugs. It now shows the SIP on the connect dialog, and resizes the terminal window when the SIP is active. Read about it and download it at my blog: http://www.cs.pitt.edu/~jmisurda/ppc...y060411-193343

Don't forget to leave feedback on how it works for you.

Jon

Maybe I'm missing something, but why is two year old software front page news. (Based on the date of the binary).

OK, Jon's updates are current, but not the version linked to on the front page.

Cheers,
Eddie

Neat! Now if only I could send a Del through the terminal instead of a backspace (lovely ^? show up in that case). Ah well, I just have to type really REALLY carefully...

For anybody who has this issue, hit CTRL and then hit H for every character you want to delete... kinda annoying, but better than no delete! :)

I understand the issue... but CAB? What CAB? Download the exe (which is NOT a Windows desktop program) directly to your device and run it directly on your device (since the exe is a Windows Mobile application). Note that if you want shortcuts in your start menu that you have to make them. To get the exe to your device, you can use an SD or CF card, use Wifi, bluetooth, or another prefered delivery mechanism...

My employer has inbound SSH enabled, but they require public key authentication.
I found a port of PocketPutty that adds public key auth. I had to have my key in putty form and rename it to id_dsa.ppk in the root folder, but was able to auth with the key on X51V WM5.

A real openssh port.
Port forwarding works.
