I still like to use GSPlayer when I am showing someone the Axim and how it does MP3's, it looks nicers with a good skin on it than TCPMP. Because I use a Microdrive I use TCPMP to save juice. But anyways.. Question
The version of GSPlayer I am using now, when I choose a song in my playlist, in the playlist view screen it stays highlighted. Good, except when the next song or any other sone after it is being played, it still keeps my first song highlighted, so I have to scroll through the list (to mtach the song in the player viewbox at the top with the songs in the list) to see where I am at..
Does this new version do that too? If it does I will stick to my old version it works fine.

looks great but i got a few issues
1. can't seem to play anything with certain mp3 for some reason, it reads 96 kbit/s but tcmp says 128kbit/s
2. doesn't seem to support wma
3. issues with playlist that has chinese songs as it does not even appear on the play list, although i still can't find a player that will resolve this
conclusion, i'll stick to tcmp until there is a better free mp3 player out there
isn't that just a VGA version of gsplayer? how can you use it as a patch for the wm5 version?
You're right- technically it isn't a patch although it has been referred to as one in forums. I had v2.2 installed and wasn't satisfied with the GUI so I renamed the original .exe and copied the "patch" .exe file to the program directory. Now I execute the program with the x-scale version .exe. I don't honestly know if that VGA version would properly install alone, or if you need to have official version first like I did.
I use GSPlayer for my x51v and I like it except I ALWAYS close it when I'm not using it.
If I sleep my Axim or stop GSPlayer to use something else w/o closing GSPlayer, then it locks up my Axim x51v or cripples it to where you have to soft reset.
--- Hope they fix this problem soon.

Hello, i just downloaded the beta version for win mobile 5, and honestly, it's the same functionality as the one for PPC, or CE!! It is a bit more visually appealing compared to the other versions, i guess it's worth the switch if your using win mobile 5.
Otherwise i was pleased w/ the earlier product, and still am please w/ the upgrade.
So my recommendation is if you have win mobile 5, and are wondering if you should, i would, b/c that's why you have an upgrade, the program should like better.
It STILL won't play .WMA files - smaller and better quality then MP3 IMO.
I use the superb free TCPMP (shortly to be re-named back its original name of BetaPlayer I believe) for both video AND music. TCPMP will play WMA as well as virtually all other audio and video formats, although you may well need plug-ins for some of them.
Thanks for noting this. I installed GSPlayer and was surprised it couldn't play any of the CD recordings I've made (they're all .WMA.) Is there a plug-in available for .WMA?
Other than lack of skinning ability, TCPMP still wins hands down for me. I didn't realise this, but TCPMP somehow has an in-built Bluetooth AVRCP facility for use with Bluetooth headphones. No other media player for Pocket PC is capable of this feature without installing the HP Patch discussed elsewhere, and I'm not too keen on doing that.
