I take it you have tried 'control panel - add/remove programs - activesync ' on your pc?

obviously you can't remove it from your axim so if the above doesn't work I think a hard reset may be in order....

It tells me that the mobile device is not supported with 4.2. And when I remove that and reinstall 3.8, I can't open AS at all. At least with 4.2 I can open AS. I'm about ready to shoot it.

I have used ActiveSync 4.2 Beta for a couple of weeks after the 4.1 quit completely. It is working to synch outlook contacts, notes, calendar, and tasks. They only thing seems to be a note pops up when I put my X51V in the cradle - the note says synch error but nothing else. I can enter data into my calendar on the host pc and it shows up on the Axim no prob. Looks like a fix to me!!

I'm a little late to the game. I just upgraded to AS 4.2 Beta HOPING it would allow me to finally sync via BT BlueSoleil. Unfortunately still no luck via BT. Desktop (Win 2000 Pro SP 4) and PPC (WM5) see each other and will connect, but still cannot connect to AS.

When syncing via USB craddle, that works fine. Like other above, saw no differences from AS 4.1

I have been in the computer industry for over 30 years and I must say that Microsoft WM5 BT Stack is the worst piece of CRAP I have ever seen. Was this released or did it escape?
