My two cents...

Right now Im travelling in Japan for a month, and Opera was the only browser that I could actually UPLOAD my pics through to the website I use. Minimo couldnt that I could find, nor IE. Didnt try the others, didnt have to once I tried Opera Beta 2. Fast, slick, works good, and a strong community site (my.opera.com forums are cool) means once I get home Im payin for this puppy. Ya its a bit expensive, but right now its the best, by far, that Ive seen available. Using the x51v btw, works great for me, just uninstalled the beta, installed this.

Gotta run, meter runnin out on the inet cafe computer.

This is the sort of error I get on a page with a lot of text on...

starts off normal but eventually the text overlaps instead of scrolling..

and it keeps getting worse

I believe it is really X50V+WM2003SE issue. URL`s already referred here.

I tried that, same results.

I got a firsthand impression about overall slowly performance on X50V-WM2003SE. Not measureed any statastics. Hope I could do it later.

Same as referred here-in.

Another strange thing I found is newer "opera.dll" is no longer being compressed by "upx" compressor. While I managed to compress older "opera.dll"(beta) from 5.2MB to 1.69MB using "upx", this final version "opera.dll" doesn't compress at all!

Beta version opera created a proxy localhost:5400 (127.0.0.1:5400) on the very first fresh install, final version doesn't creat any proxy. I think that proxy gave some speed boost in X50V-WM2003SE.

Also, if I have downloaded something using 'opera mobile` it keeps open a 'transfer window` showing downloads. If I close this transfer window, my main opera window (thus running opera mobile application) closes immediately and I loose current history/bookmarks in this sudden unplanned exit of `opera mobile`

So just after final version 'opera mobile' out, I turned back to fxtpBrowser many a months later and due to limitations/buugs in both 'opera mobile' and `opera mini 2.0` in (perhaps) X50V-WM2003SE, have developed a combination of fxtpBrowser+PIE. Browse in fxtpBrowser and `cut-paste` link/adress in PIE for downloads etc.

I’ve just published a tutorial on saving images from inside Opera Mobile. Check out this.

I tried it and had lots of problems. The switcher bar fails completely when I load Opera, support for frames is incomplete and buggy, and many other smaller problems. Be careful before you spend money on this one.

I am using this new version without problems...do you have any experience with Java applets? I am trying to access some sites with java applets with no success.
Any info on that will be appreciate.

/Mauro

I must have done something wrong. I switched opera mobile to full screen mode, and now I can't get out! The Menu toolbar at the bottom disappeared. How can i revert it back?

Just click and hold anywhere on the page and a context menu should pop up enabling you to revert back.

I have an x50v with WM2003. I use both Opera 8.6 and PIE with the Spb Pocket Plus plugin. I use the first for my regular browsing and PIE when a page displays with the text all scrambled up. Sometimes PIE gets the backgrounds screwed up, in some pages with lots of text, like those at www.somethingawful.com. Others with no backgrounds at all, such as the columns at www.straightdope.com work perfectly. I also have Netfront 3.3, but I'm using it each time less. I like Opera's overall compatability, features and speed much better. But Netfront looks and displays the pages better. And the text scrambles up just about the same...

I came to a similar conclusion on the same hardware... but i bought netfront and never looked back. Certainly Netfront doesn't seem to scramble long pages in the way opera does...

Can you post a link to somewhere that gets scrambled with NF.. or even better a link and a screenshot?
