Windows Vista: Mobile Device Center Update Available!

For those intrepid users of Beta 2 of Windows Vista, an update to the Mobile Device Center (MDC) is available from Windows Update which now permits synchronizing your PIM data with your device! Until now, only offline files and Windows Media files have been available to sync through the MDC. I have synchronized my X50v with Outlook 2007 and it works great. There seems to be significant speed improvements relative to Activesync. As always, remember that this is beta software so your mileage may vary. :approve:

Thats OK.....

Myself and a couple others are having a problem syncing with Outlook. It says we need to configure Outlook. I did a reinstall of 2007 Beta and Sync Update still no luck. Not sure what is causing problem.

Thanks for the heads up for those brave enough to actually give Vista a try.

It won't install on a 14 gig disk? Mine is only... a 10 GB partition.

I think he meant that to install it he would need 14GB of space, which he doesn't have.

I don't think it needs that much space if you do a clean install. It only takes a couple of gigs total. If you install it with a current version of windows it will archive the current version, therefore eating up lots of space.

It said that you can not revert back to the other version though, so I just erased my whole drive and did a clean install.

I too am having problems with Outlook 2007.....

Thanks for the heads up. Now if Linksys would put out a Vista driver for the LNE100TX NIC . How does a company not have a driver ready for most common NIC that they sell?

P.S. Any heads up on a Linksys LNE100TX driver would be great...PM me!! :not_worth

I just installed the update to vista, and configured my axim x51v; and it works great. The setup was easier than the old active sync setup. It seems to integrate perfecly, makes using a pocket pc much easier!

Not me, although I haven't spent a lot of time trying to get it to work.
