Wonder if you can turn off the the wifi when not needed (to conserve battery) and still use the storage part of the card?

I think they were referring to the compact flash card. I had no idea what you were talking about either until I actually went to this thread in the forums.

Prices:
CF with memory card: $130
SD card: $100

We have no idea if the Axim supports SDIO... Sure the Xscale does, but Dell has yet to say if the rest of the hardware does...

I thought it was already determined that the Axim does NOT support SDIO. That is why having the SD memory card slot working was such an issue because we wanted to use the CF card slot for WiFi etc.

Combo storage, WLAN cards
Sorry to inform you, but our beloved Axim, don't have SD-IO only SD slot...that means, that you can only use the SD slot for memory and not a GPS, WiFi or BT....
So we have to wait for a CF solution...and the solution with a CF and a Wifi card looks nice, but I can't wait for the transsission with BT, WiFi and memory....but I think we will have to wait some time, because I have to this date never seen nor heard of that combo type card..
But I have to admit that a combu soluton with a memorycard and Wifi is a big step in the right direction..
->sorry about any misspelling, I am from Denmark.

ParaAxim,

It was "assumed" that the Axim does not support SDIO, but never confirmed. There is still a SLIM chance that it does, but Dell most likely would have confirmed if it did support it.
