My upgrade went smoothly. WA2 and WAD are working well as well. Only the problem I've had was waking up after not turning the WiFi off. I had a scheduled backup for 3AM this morning. When I looked at my Axim this morning it still said 3am. I had to soft reset it.

Anyone else with that experience?

Don't have any problem or issue installing the A12 ROM Update. Battery looks good since last night. No ActiveSync running. I tested my GPS BT (OCN5) this morning and I dont have any problem pairing my BT receiver. Everthing works fine for this time.:approve:

just a quick note, per the suggestions of this forum, i performed a hard reset and set up through the align screen and cut/paste maneuver before upgrade and followed the instructions on the pc screen and the upgrade went flawlessly and took less than 5 minutes. now, on to restoring the apps via active sync (good thing i wrote those serial numbers down). thanks aximsite!!

I've never performed a hard reset before, as I didn't think it was necessary. Had an X5 Advanced for almost two years without a reset. I've had my X51v since January. But, recently problems with the X51v have just cropped up, so even though I have a lot of programs to reinstall I will probably apply this A12 update.

Then why have backup at all, and why do they suggest you make a backup
before performing the upgrade?

Standard jargon....just like support telling you to soft reset and hard reset. I was having a battery latch problem and the support person told me to soft reset...then hard reset....and the very next line was.....it seems the unit is is defective. I will replace it. If you knew the unit was defective, why did you have me hard reset it?

Wow, then it must not be working to good because my BackUp did not work out so hot. It did the same old thing and told me that it was not a real backup and that it was unable to complete it.

Hi everybody,

I installed A12 with no hitches. then I got a couple of error messages (the style "do you want this error report to be sent to MS?" I said not but it kept coming until I turned error reporting off. Now that is how I am running it and it seems ok. Besides, I run TomTom 5 and it stalled a couple of times. I tried to SR but the blue screen stayed on for a long time until I tried a HR, when asked to confirm I said no and the axim went back to work. strange isn't it?
Anyone else having this type pf "reactions"

I updated this morning when I got to work and finished a fresh re-load of all my apps around Noon. The device is much more responsive and soft resets no longer take 5 minutes to complete. :approve: I also noticed that even PIE loads faster than it used to. Previously, PIE was so slow that I gave up on it altogether and got NetFront 3.3.

Two nagging problems that remain following the update:

Today screen lock-up - Every once in a while, the Today screen freezes and becomes completely unresponsive until I tap on the calendar icon. Tapping on no other icon will work. It's a minor annoyance, but an annoyance just the same.

BatteryPack issue - Sometimes my Today screen icons get moved out of order. The only way to fix the problem is to tap on one of the icons and they then display in the correct order. I think this is a problem with the latest release of BatteryPack than a problem with the X51v or the OS.

I don't think that's possible.

So, just to be clear (because I'm still not sure I really *NEED* this upgrade), after doing the upgrade, will I have to do the fake Exchange server trick to get ActiveSync not to suck?

Thanks,
/tk
