Pocket PC Techs, the company who provides 128MB RAM upgrade for Axim X5 Advanced, is planning to release V2.0 of their T2T Disk driver in a few days. They already updated the driver for their iPaq 5400 series disks.
This new driver is expected to solve the biggest problem that the upgraded disks had--requiring the modified version of BIOS in ROM to make the new disk usable. With this upgrade, a modified BIOS is no longer required. This means that you can upgrade your ROM image anytime without worrying about losing access to your T2T Disk, the new storage space added by the upgrade service. So, upgrading to Pocket PC 2003 should not be a problem.
The new driver also includes a couple of more enhancements. It will make it easy for you to use T2T Disk for storing AvantGo channels. With a single tap of stylus, the driver will not only move AvantGo channels from original location to T2T Disk, but also modify registry value for you. It will also let you move internet temporary folders to T2T Disk.
I am really glad to see that Pocket PC Techs has finally fixed the problem with BIOS modification requirements before Pocket PC 2003 is released. Otherwise, everyone who upgraded their units would not have been very happy customers.
