If so, then why would someone buy this if you can download it (legally?) for free?
If it's anything like Monkey Island, you must own the Desktop version, and copy over key files. The only reason you MIGHT find it online for free is if the copyrights have expired. But, as Astraware has released this version, I would say the copyrights are intact, and any versions you find online are not legal. (I should be a lawyer. )

I just downloaded and installed the trial version of this game, and the vga graphics were good, but even the demo took a lot of space, and it was finished in 10 mins. I don't think that i'll be buying the full version.

A great game. I played it first when I was a kid... I recently tried the Gameboy Advance version, wich is actually good. If they did the conversion fine for GBA, they have no excuse to make this one bad...

Broken sword is a fantastic adventure... if you've never played it before then this would be an excellent time to play it.

I went to the website and it did not mention anything about Windows Mobile 5. Can anyone tell me otherwise. It looks great though. Thanks

There's a link on the Astraware site page for broken sword for WM5 (on the right side toward the bottom).

The download on the SCUMMVM site is just the cutscenes for the game, re-compressed into SCUMMVM-friendly formats.

The game is VERY nice. Almost better than the first release on Playstation :) Hm well the X51v probably got better hardware then a PS1.

I've played the demo and bought the real deal and im not sorry for it. Totaly worth the money. Im going on a 9H + 2H flight next week now i have something to do :D

There is however some changes from the Original version. This version will be much easier to solve problems on. That is because they are highlighting everything for you ( because of the little monitor ). This makes it impossible to miss stuff :)

However, the game has some hard clues in it that will not be solved by showing you the path.

Have fun playing everyone!

Well, I'm pretty sure the real game will take much more time :)

IMHO the game is really cool, given the lack of real (let alone VGA!) adventure games on the Pocket PC. It's a must for VGA users.

Also see my mini-review & other comments here.

I installed the demo and checked it out. It is very good and fairly user-friendly, but if you really want to get its full potential, you should buy the full version. The special offer from Astraware involves joining Club Astraware, which does not involve anything more than putting down your info and establishing a password. Once you have joined, you get to buy the software for $19.95, a $10 savings.

We'd also like to point out that Broken Sword is this month's double points offer at Club Astraware. Points can be used as discount against future purchases, so double points on a $19.95 will be 3990 points - $3.99 off your next purchase. Oh and we give you 2500 points for joining Club Astraware too.

Sorry for the shameless plug, but I wanted to make sure you all knew that it could save you money off other games too!

Cheers!

Alison

Hmm someone from Astraware is here... I wonder if there is any comment about the mention in the thread from Menneisyys about the potential downsampling of the sound data...
