I just downloaded and installed the trial version of this game, and the vga graphics were good, but even the demo took a lot of space, and it was finished in 10 mins. I don't think that i'll be buying the full version.
I agree with this. I was done in about 10 minutes time also and I went, "That's it!". I don't expect the whole game for free but the demo gave me no sense of game play at all. I notice that many of the posters here have played prior versions, so they know what they are getting. This demo left me scratching my head. When I finish a demo in 10 minutes that tells me it will take me an hour to finish the game. $20 bucks on an hours worth of fun. Rather pay to see a movie.

The game is VERY big, at least i think so. This is not a game you finish off in one day. The demo is exactly the same as the demo released for the PC back in the days. They didnt change anything.
We'd also like to point out that Broken Sword is this month's double points offer at Club Astraware. Points can be used as discount against future purchases, so double points on a $19.95 will be 3990 points - $3.99 off your next purchase. Oh and we give you 2500 points for joining Club Astraware too.
Sorry for the shameless plug, but I wanted to make sure you all knew that it could save you money off other games too!
Cheers!
Alison
Thanks for this; posted it as a news item to the PPCMag blog :)

All demo versions are like this - not just that of Broken Sword (for example, the great platformer Gold Miner Joe has a 10-minute-only demo, Enslave can only be played for 30 minutes etc).
I just started playing.
So far, really a lot of fun.
Much better than Fade.
Amazing how some parts were done with sequences where things move on screen.
It's the best traditional adventure game on PPC to date as far as I can tell - and I DID pre-order it. :D It's handled a lot better than the GBA conversion, which Revolution also did (IIRC), and you -can- turn off the 'auto-highlight points of interest' thing. The main complaint I've seen, which I don't share, is that the sound is a tad 'scratchy'... but maybe that's due to resampling for some people; I don't notice it with my HT820's.
It also runs perfectly fine in WM5 - and given it was designed for VGA originally... well, this and an x50/51v were a match made in heaven.
Eric Pankoke loved it, and I'm still playing through it. There's an irony somewhere that I own a gaming website and, in fact, am pretty rubbish when it comes to actually playing them...

I am in Ireland. I have fixed the glass washer in the pub and got the towel which I have soaked with water from the faucet in the cellar. But I can't fix the beer pump (it is supposed to be in the cellar but I can't find it) and I can't get past the tethered goat in the castle.
I have got the towel (wet), the clown's red nose, the picture of the villain, theflashlight, the gem, the ID card, the matchbook, the "handshake" and the tissue.
I hav NOT read the rest of the Spoliers text, because I don't want to spoil the rest of the game, but I will now be able to find out what to do if I get completelystuck again.
I note that whoever wrote the Spoilers cheat sheet said that it took him over an hour to find out how to get past the goat, so I don't feel too ashamed that I couldn't do it!!
