I just installed the new beta version on my x51v. No problems at all!! The interface greatly improved, with better VGA support. Also, softkey support is added. Go Skype!!

Won't install on my x50.

When trying with the CAB file I get a "The file \My Documents\Skype.CAB is not a valid Windows CE Setup file." error.

When using the PC installer, I get a "Application Manager cannot install this application on your mobile device due to an invalid setup file. Reinstall and try again." error.

Any ideas? Does this only work on WM5?

I don't get it. Due to the free outbound calling feature w/ Skype, I was able to make outbound calls using Skype 2.0 with no problems despite the fact that outbound calling was "not available" through my account because I didn't deposit any money. Now with 2.1 I can't make a single outbound call to a US landline. I suppose that in order to get it to work, I'll have to deposit the minimum $5 and suffer.

Unless I'm doing something wrong...any ideas?

Drat, I still can't send SMSes :( That was the only thing I was hoping for to be released in the new version..

Emailed the developers about the feature and that we want it.

It is free to call other skype users over the internet (Voice over IP)

If you want to call land lines etc. you have to pay... but you should check the website sometimes they run specials with free calls.

Has anyone got it working on an X50v with WM2003SE yet? Mine will not install...

Heh, I got a WM2003SE x50v and it works fine for me. Only thing is, that it's "driver" memory aggresive so if you for example run opera, then you won't be able to run Skype unless you restart the device. So if you want to make it easy, run skype as the first thing after the pocketPC starts. I bought PocketMechanic Professional and there's this new version that can free your ram and it really do work with skype allright. Helps me free up 0,5-1MB sometimes! :)

Actually, calling landlines in US and Canada is free until the end of december.

I have the exact same thing on my machine, but on my laptop everything works fine... So I guess it is something on the computer, not the Pocket PC or ActiveSync, but I can't figure out why
I've posted this problem on several sites. Let's hope someone knows the answer to this...

Doesn't appear to install from the desktop or .CAB file. I filed a bug report with Skype but haven't heard back. Please, everybody who's experiencing this problem, report it to Skype!

I had the old version and it worked flawless!! The new version would not call the number I dialed. Went back to the old and works like a charm!! Anybody else see this??

When I try to install it I get an error saying that Application manmager can not install the application due to an invalid setup file.

I am running Active Sync 3.7.1

I looked for Actice Sync 3.8 but could not...

is that the problem?
