Eligibility: Any registered Aximsite.com user can participate in this contest.
Review Product: Any Pocket PC software or hardware that is fully compatible with the Axim or any other Pocket PC. Hardware or Software already reviewed by Aximsite.com cannot be used.
Length of Review Article: There is NO restriction on length of the review article.
Submission: The review article should be submitted to reviews@aximsite.com by the above stated deadline. The review article should be in HTML or Text with images format.(for a template we use contact Chris) Images should also be ZIP'ed and submitted separately. (Hint:images are essential to a good review) Images should only be in either GIF or JPG format. Submitted articles will not be returned.
Required Information: The following information should be included in the submitted article. It is ok to include more information, i.e. more rating categories, but following information are required for all submissions.
- Real name of the participant
- Email address of the participant
- Aximsite.com user name of the participant
- Official name of the software reviewed
- Version of the software/hardware reviewed
- Developer of the software/hardware reviewed
- Publisher / Distributor of the software reviewed (if different from the developer)
- Website address of publisher / distributor or developer if developer is the distributor
- Price of registered version
- Overall ratings, scale of 1 – 100
Winners Winners will be announced on September 30, 2006. Three winners will be selected. Winners will be chosen by Aximsite.com staffs and all decisions will be final. Winning articles will be posted on Staff Review section with winners' names. Winners will also receive prize items listed below. Winners have a chance to be invited to become an Aximsite Reviewer.

Yes. Last year when this contest came up, I wanted to participate (although last year, weren't they actively looking for someone to join the review team?). School, however, got in the way. Now that I'm a graduate student, though, and things not yet being crazy, it'd be fun to submit an entry.
Chris, if we already write reviews for other sites, may be still participate? If yes, then do we have to write up a new review just for this contest or are we allowed to post that review up on our other site?

Actually, no need for a template. Just look at the structure of most of the reviews we've posted. 99% of them use the same style and layout. You don't have to go by it 100%.
Also, yes... We are kinda recruiting for a couple to add to the review staff.
As for previously published work, I would have to say no. There is a chance that some of the submitted reviews will be published at Aximsite and I do not want to worry about irritating other webmasters in this community.

I have an honest question. What is the likelihood that a negative review of a product will win? There is a great deal of bias on almost all sites against negative reviews. Some places just don't like the negative tone, others think it scares away advertisers, some places don't want their online buddies feelings hurt, and so on. The geenral perspective is, "If we cannot say anything nice, lets not say anything at all".
So I want to ask honestly and hope I get an honest response, can you write a review that trashes a product and win this contest?

Just to make sure, when you say a product that has not been reviewed, do you mean a product that does not show up on a search on this page in Staff Reviews:

I would say that It is a good thing for consumers(albeit bad for advertisers and the site runners becaue they need moola to operate). Will you win, I doubt it with a negative article. I wish you could but I think it is just politics.
