TenGo V.2.10 Released!

Xrgonomics.com released TenGo V.2.10. This release adds the following features/fixes:
  • Improved Memory resource management

  • Updated language support (Now includes 11 National Languages)

  • Updated security feature - users need to register for a new unlocking license key

  • Bug Fixes

  • Updated Tutorial

The TenGo keyboard is phenomonal, allowing for much faster text input than any other method that I have tried. Take a look at the demo on their site here. Also, they have a video available for download that shows a young lady sitting on the floor and typing at a speed of more than 70 words per minute on a PPC with only a stylus! After just a few hours of practice. Pretty impressive to watch.

This update is free for any registered users of TenGo 2.00.

A few hours? I saw a huge difference the very first time trying it. I was compelled to register the app. Its a must have for anyone that is frustrated by the default keyboard.

Tengo is a good utility. When doing straight text entry it really speeds things up. It doesn't totally replace the standard keyboard, though. Sometimes when I'm taking detailed notes that require a lot of abbreviations, references (like Bible verse references) and other "shorthand" types of notes Tengo actually gets in the way.

It's an excellent utility - but it's another one of several tools for a PPC, not the replacement for all of 'em.

^^^ Agree completely with CodeBubba. I use Tengo for 95% of all my data entry ... absolutely one of the best utilities that I have purchased - been using it for a year.

I have always been pretty good at using Graffitti from my Palm days ... so when I have lots of abbreviations and such to write, I switch to Block Recognizer - I never use the standard built-in keyboard.

Tengo rocks!

I have the previous version, i can't complain. But i would have to think about purchasing the program. I downloaded it because it was a free download. I'll check this one out too. If it's a free download.. :)

Otherwise it's a hassel, esp. w/ Opera. The tengo doesn't sit well w/ Opera. And i surf a lot w/ the pda.

Thanks for the info.

*** took a look at the web site ***

No free downloads,... only trial... uhm i'm gonna think about it.

It would be a little more enticing for us old school whippersnappers if there was a nice fat discount offer available.

Tengo rocks!

I have several keyboards.

1. Resco
2. SPB full screen
3. Stowaway IR
4. Tengo

Had calligrapher 8.3 installed but had too many interaction problems.

I find Tengo to be best of breed. Once you get used to it that is. I'm almost at the
speed of the Asian girl in the video on their website. Once you build up a small dictionary of not-so-common words, it's prediction speed is phenominal.

Highly recommend playing with the demo for 30 days.

Ok... having been convinced that it's great by the free version, i'm now considering the full one.

Does anyone know if running tengo free, and tengo2 together cause any problems?

How much of a "nice fat discount" do you expect on a $25 item? C'mon, pal - software developers have to make a living too! $25 ain't a high price for such a productivity tool. Us software developers have to work HARD to produce stuff, despite all the slick new tools available. You can't eat out at a nice restaurant for $25 - and that lasts you, what - 5 or 6 hours before you have to eat again? Tengo you keep! :)

BTW ... I'm an "old school" whippersnapper myself!

I agree that it is the best of all of these soft keyboards. However, I can't type as fast as that girl due to the following reason:
Let's say I want to type "I can do that". However, I previously used the following words: "van", "so" and "what". If I just type on Tengo without looking at the word list and select the right one, "I can do that" becomes "I van so what". I need to look at the list constantly and it slow me down quite a bit.

If I can overcome this issue, Tengo is perfect. benjesuit, do you have solution to that?

I don't "expect" any. but it would be nice if there were one available.
As for making a living, I have to do that too. Don't feel like developers are the only ones.
As for 25$ not being a high price, I have to differ with you on that. Sorry, but that's my 2 cents.

I recommend the TenGO free version before considering buying TenGO 2.10.
