Helium Digital Announces New Bluetooth Stereo Headphones + Discount
Helium Digital, a Canadian company specializing in trend forward accessories for digital devices, has announced the launch of their new HDBT-700 and HDBT-750 Bluetooth Stereo Headphones. The HDBT-700 is a stand alone Bluetooth headset designed to be used specifically with Bluetooth enabled devices, while the HDBT-750 features the same Stereo Headset of the HDBT-700, but adds a Bluetooth stereo transmitter, allowing the headset to be used with any device with a 3.5mm audio input jack.
The Bluetooth Stereo headset of the HDBT-700 is an extremely lightweight 50 grams, and unlike similar models it is only slightly larger than a typical wired headset. The headphones feature a stylish behind the neck design and includes both on ear volume and next/previous track control. The headset includes a very discreet microphone that will allow for handsfree communication with a Bluetooth enabled cell phone. While connected to a Bluetooth enabled cell phone, music from any other connected Bluetooth device will automatically pause and beep to identify incoming calls. Other features include built in echo elimination, noise suppression, as well as voice dial support.
The Bluetooth transmitter included in the HDBT-750, is much smaller than similar transmitters, and will allow a Bluetooth connection to be made with any digital audio player, portable DVD player, laptop, PDA, or any other audio source with a 3.5mm jack. Both the headset and the transmitter have a built in rechargeable lithium ion battery, which when fully charged will provide 6 -7 hours of playing time.
The HDBT-700 will have a suggested retail price of $79.99 (CND), while the HDBT-750 will have a suggested retail price of $129.99 (CND). Both models are available in a choice of either white or black, and will begin shipping in mid October just in time for the holiday season.

...and from the idiot questions corner comes this: I assume my Axim 51v would do the bluetooth thing with music? This sounds supercool but I'm sure I don't understand how to make music transmit unless that happens 'cause the 51 'makes it' happen. Help/input (besides, 'what a lame question, please :) )
I have a Motorola HT820 Bluetooth headset and it looks and acts similar to these headphones. Anything that would normally come out of the x51v' speaker will come out of the headphones when you are paired. In other words, if you are paired, you can use Windows Media Player, or TCPMP or whatever media player you use and the music will come out of the headphones. If you are watching a video on your x51v the sound will be sent to the headphones.

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and he'll be gone all day.
Traffic lights that are set for 35 are also set for 70
I have the HT820 as well (love them). One thing you have to be aware of though, is that WM 2003SE and WM5 do not come with the correct High Quality Audio BT Stack, so you will not be able to listen to stereo music until you update them. I don't have the links handy, but both (the WM2003Se and WM5 stacks) are available here in Aximsite.

if someone has more info on those better stacks i would appreciate it :)
Wow, these look a LOT like the first generation Logitech Bluetooth headphones. I wonder if the headband is as brittle (hope not)? Logitech's second generation headphones now have a steel-reinforced band.

I have a pair of these, and they do not have the brittle band issue. I bought them after the Logitech ones broke on me in about 2 days. These ones have been fine and I have been using them for about a month.
I was under the impression that a12 installed those needed stacks or what ever to listen to audi via bluetooth.
I think the widcomm project is great for those who enjoy it, but I found the drivers and interface slow and clumsy. After installing the widcomm drivers and following the directions specificly, I was able to get some basic bluetooth connections set up, but it didnt offer much over the built in bluetooth drivers (IMO).
I was still unable to send sms through any of the commercial aps I have. To add insult to injury, it made it so I could no longer send sms via zsms... so it basically removed this option for me.
It didnt add any speed or usablity improvements to connecting via gprs. In fact it made it more clumsy imo.
At the time, I hadnt considered using bluetooth headphones for music, but if I had, it just seemed like there was a LOT of tweaking that had to be done to get it to work properly.
In the end I switched back to MS stack, and plan on getting the moto headphones for christmass from my wife. I assumed that the last update addressed the a2dp (or what ever its called) issues.

Ya like Cirrob said, the A12 update for the x51(v) added the a2dp bt stack. so hands-free and stereo are both available.
Another poster said these didn't have the flimsy headband. Also, the ILuv headphones weigh over twice as much! More expensive, too. From what I can see, the helium digital headphones look like a better deal.

Yes, I have actually practically folded them to transport them in my laptop bag, and although it takes some bending to get them to original shape if you do this, they do so fairly easily.
The Logitech ones I had would have snapped instantly had I tried this, so there is really no comparison in the quality of construction of the two headsets.
On top of that the audio and phone integration is great. I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs an all in one audio and communication headset.
